Burden of Proof arrives October 16 via Griselda. In addition to Weezy and Big Sean, the LP includes contributions from Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, Queen Najia, Dom Kennedy, Conway the Machine, and Westside Gunn. The album features production from Hit-Boy, and is executive-produced by Benny the Butcher, Hit-Boy, and Westside Gunn.
“If you understand the meaning (Burden of Proof), it’s one trying to prove their assertion; and that’s what I’m doing with this album,” Benny the Butcher said in a press release. “This is the validation of what I have been saying all this time about Griselda, BSF, Benny The Butcher, coming to fruition. The Burden of Proof always lies with me.”
Benny added: “It was dope working with Wayne and Big Sean. I have so much respect for their talents. I have respect for everything they are doing. Wayne is one of the goats. It’s a good thing to be on a track with those guys trading bars.”
Last month, Benny the Butcher hopped on Buffalo rapper (and fellow Griselda artist) Armani Caeser’s single “Simply Done,” which also features DJ Premier. Big Sean recently released his fifth solo album Detroit 2, and Lil Wayne just dropped a deluxe edition of his Tha Carter V LP. The extended version features 2 Chainz, Post Malone, Gucci Mane, and more.
